Halloween Event + Wedding Ideas

It’s October, which means it’s time to set out your pumpkins, pick out a costume, and whip up some boo-zy cocktails. We love a themed party and Halloween is one of our favorites! If you love Halloween as much as us and are getting married in October, you may be looking to fill your wedding day with some spooky tidbits. We dug up some inspiration to help you create the perfect ambience for a Halloween themed event.

Themed invitations.
Whether you’re using a stationery expert or creating them yourself, entice your guests with a Fall or Halloween themed invitation! You can choose Autumnal colors, like orange, yellow, maroon, and black, or use textured paper to create a old parchment feel. If you’re going the digital route, consider adding a magical touch with a looped image or video to fit the theme!

Alternative wedding attire.
We love a playful host who experiments with colors and style to fit a seasonal theme. If your wedding is on Halloween, you can keep things elegant by choosing a formal dress in almost-traditional gold or silver and let the on-theme wedding party set the scene. We love these black dresses and beautiful flowers in dark gemstone colors!

Consider a historic venue or use your imagination with decor!
You can turn any venue into your own haunted mansion. Even if you don’t have a historic, probably haunted castle on hand, the decoration will make all the difference! Choose dark colors and tie them in throughout your decor. Then add themed items like candelabras and candles, cats, skulls and spiders (for the extra brave!), and of course florals.

Themed Food + Cocktails.
From pumpkin spice cupcakes with black icing to witch’s potion punch, there are so many ways to keep your food on theme by choosing Fall flavors and getting creative with names and food coloring. We also love a candy station at any event and Halloween gives you the perfect excuse to eat all the candy corn.

Music!
Last but certainly not least, queue up some classic Halloween tunes for your break playlist or for the band to play. Check out some of our favorites on our Halloween playlist:
